Harvard, MIT and BU are within walking distance. Access all of Cambridge & Boston with a 6 minute walk to the T. (Red Line at Central Square)
Stops for private shuttles to Kendall Square and The Longwood Medical Area are also in Central Square.
More than 30 bars and restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk, with lots more attractions a short subway or bus ride away.

A stop for the #47 City Bus is a few steps from my front door on Pearl Street. The #47 Bus accesses the Longwood Medical Area, (including Dana Farber, Beth Israel), as well as Fenway Park and 2 major arts museums( Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum and Museum of Fine Arts)are on this line. You are a 10-15 minute bus ride from all of these things, and lots, lots more.
